Pineapple Floats

I wasn't too shy about talking about my Disneyland trip.

While I was there, I discovered this:

That, my friends, is a Pineapple Float. When purchased there, it's made with Dole Whip and pineapple juice, topped with a cherry and umbrella. Lela ate the cherry. Dole Whip seems to be a pineapple flavored soft serve. Wikipedia told me the Dole Whip is some sort of puree reconstituted with water and frozen. Blah, blah, blah. Whatever. It was darn tasty, and hit the spot. Though I felt vanilla soft serve might have somehow been better...

I wanted it at home. But I wanted it with awesome vanilla.

So I bought some vanilla ice cream and some pineapple juice. And I made my own. I did let the ice cream soften for just a few minutes.

One word: YUM!

It is my current obsession, second only to vanilla ice cream with Bailey's over the top. Which I have in a little tiny glass, so as not to eat and drink a giant bowl full.

Try it. You'll like it.

Yum! What if you went and got soft serve and then made it? I'm going to have to try this and pretend it's summer.

Sounds delicious. And you are so clever to make this yourself! I agree the vanilla sounds better. I'll have to give this a try. Thanks Ally!

So you just put the ice cream in pineapple juice?
