Have I mentioned that I love Sandra Bullock? I've seen nearly all her movies, many of them several times.
The Blind Side was on last weekend and we got sucked into watching it. For the third time.
There's a scene where she walks onto the the football field during practice to help Michael understand what he's supposed to do. As she walks away, there is a brief second that shows a handful of the players, and a coach, leaning to one side to watch her a** as she walks. Granted, she's wearing a butt-hugging white skirt and does a fairly decent sashay. But... these are teenage boys. Children. I know she's Sandra Bullock, and totally hot, but in the story of the movie, she's a mom! Of a teenager!
I said to Hubs, "Ewww."
"What?"
"They're teenage boys."
"So."
"She's a mom!"
"So. They're teenage boys," he said as if I was an idiot.
"Teenage girls wouldn't look at someone's dad that way."
"That's totally different."
Really? There's something more than mildly creepy about thinking of teenage boys looking at another teenager's mom that way.
Then I wondered what Demi Moore's daughter's friends thought when they looked at Ashton Kutcher. Maybe I hadn't completely won my argument here. Then again, he was closer to their age than hers, so it's a really bad analogy.
Maybe if a dad looked like George Clooney, the teenage girls would look at him that way. Then again, I think it's more likely the teenage girls' moms would be looking at him that way.
In case you haven't seen it - Click here and drag the button to 2:40. It's really all you need to see.
By the way, it really is a great movie.

I haven't yet seen that movie but I totally get your point. It is a bit odd. But then again i guess if sandra bullock is the mom that might make it different!! lol
Trust me that scene is dead on. Key words teenage boys.. Truth I can remember being a teen and having a gf whose dad was GORGEOUS I was smitten and yep eyeballed him when I thought no one could see.
I have had a crush on Sandra Bullock since I saw Speed. Woo. I met a chick that looked like her one time...it was all I could do to NOT propose on the spot.
She's gorgeous. I enjoyed the clip immensely. I'm with the boys on this one. But my opinion might be just a week bit skewed. SNORT
Growing up, I was friends with all the neighborhood kids. One dad a few doors down was certifiably sexy. Not good looking. Not handsome. HOT. My mom and I would peer out the window together at him when he'd go on jogs. I was in high school when this was happening.
Okay, I wish teenage boys were lusting after me. Sandra is holding up pretty good!
I'm glad I wasn't alone in getting sucked into it! I love that movie, I don't even really know why.
It's a fantastic movie! And yes, teenage girls do the same as boys. 12 years working with and around teenagers and I can share that with 100% confidence!!
Hey when I'm her age and boys look at me...that would be a win...a creepy one...but a win.
PS. Ashton lost his charm when he grew that shaggy beard
Never seen the movie, but yep completely different with teenage boys and older women/moms. Boys at that age don't exactly see an age associated with the person. They just seen the body, and or the experience.....Here's to you Mrs. Robinson....
I just saw it for the first time, and it's an excellent movie. But yeah, the whole thought of kids thinking someone's mom is hot is pretty gross! Guess that's where MILF comes in, huh?
I could watch 2 weeks notice over and over again. I'm not sure why, but it always cracks me up! The first time I saw that scene on the freeway, I almost wet my pants laughing! That is totally the kind of thing that would happen to me.
As for the double standard in your post, it's an annoying conundrum.
